ja, frau A., wenn man des englischen mächtig ist wie sie (und viele andere verleger*innen der republik)...
...und wenn nicht: ist unsereins nicht "würdig", die republik zu lesen?
jedenfalls, der aufwand für eine deutsche übersetzung zu den texten von sany - dessen cartoons ich sehr schätze - würde sicherlich keine grenzen sprengen.

ist eine gute Idee, im Anhang einen kleinen Schlüssel auf Deutsch hinzu zu fügen, dann kann man sich noch mehr über die guten Karikaturen freuen....

Putin, Trump, Johnson... das selbsternannte Ziel klar verfehlt, von wegen uns selber in den Karrikaturen wiedererkennen und nicht ueber die Boesen lachen.

We here in Switzerland may smirk at the British conundrum, but our dealings with
the EU may turn out to be similarly frustrating or awkward: also our people one day
will have to vote: for or against adopting EU policies, how to define the European
framework etc. Also in this country there are rich people who profit from the
EU market but want to keep a safe distance towards it. And the voters can easily be
misled, fooled and used for the purposes of the super-wealthy: it's our jobs, that are
at stake, so they will say!

Die gezeichnete "Sprache" ist hervorragend. Warum aber Anmerkungen in englischer Schriftsprache? Die Republik ist meines Wissens deutschsprachig.
